Supply Chain Assistant

Our client is a successful and growing Kiwi-owned business that partners with health and beauty brands, marketing and distributing them into pharmacies and supermarkets across New Zealand and international markets. They operate in a close-knit, collaborative team, and are now expanding to support a major new win.
 
The Role
 
This is a broad and fast-paced role supporting the Supply Chain Manager across planning, forecasting, reporting, and end-to-end supply chain operations. While the coordination element is important, the role leans heavily into the analytical side. You’ll be responsible for turning data into actionable insights and helping drive smarter planning decisions.
 
The key Responsibilities:
 
Supply Planning/Logistics
  • Support supply forecasting and demand planning
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with maintaining minimum stock holdings and perform accurate system-stock reconciliations
  • Assist with managing lead times and shelf-life requirements for optimal inventory management
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery of products
  • Assist in implementing policies, procedures, and compliance measures for purchasing, storage, production, and distribution
 
Operations Management
  • Support warehouse operations, including stock management and stock takes
  • Liaison with external warehouse and distribution service providers regarding customer orders and deliveries
  • Monthly reporting of 3PL KPIs
 
Communication
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and finance, as well as external stakeholders
  • Prepare and deliver regular weekly and monthly reports as requested
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers (brand owners) to understand their capabilities, requirements, and constraints
 
Skills and Experience
 
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of supply forecasting, demand planning, and inventory management
  • Understanding of warehouse operations, stock management, and stock takes
  • Ability to manage lead times, shelf-life requirements, and system-stock reconciliations
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, and compliance standards, along with supply chain best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, or other inventory management software and PowerBI
  • Familiarity with logistics, distribution, and third-party logistics (3PL) management
  • Ability to analyse and report on 3PL KPIs and other supply chain metrics
  • Strong ability to liaise with suppliers, warehouses, and distribution partners
