Looking for a role where no two days are the same, you can be hands-on, and you get to work with a genuinely good team? This premium cheuffer transport business is growing and needs a capable, people-focused Operations Manager to help keep things running smoothly.
This isn’t a desk-bound role — you’ll be in the thick of it, working alongside drivers, jumping in wherever needed, and helping deliver a top-tier experience for high-profile clients across New Zealand. You never know… you might even have a rock star in your car!
What you’ll be doing:
- Planning and scheduling drivers
- Supporting and working with a tight-knit team
- Handling HR matters for drivers
- Sharing the on-call customer service line (3am–12.30pm, one week on / one week off Mon-Sun)
- Assisting with financial responsibilities, including debtor/creditor reconciliation
- Managing customer escalations with a calm, solutions-driven approach
- Ensuring documentation, fleet standards, and admin processes are up to scratch
- Providing airport assistance, attending meetings, and working mainly from the Auckland depot
- Working toward gaining your P endorsement down the track
- Experience in transport, logistics, or a people-focused operational environment
- Someone who’s worked closely with drivers and is confident leading a team
- Able to handle a fast-paced, multi-faceted role
- Hands-on, practical, and not afraid to jump in — from picking up clients to helping tidy a vehicle if needed
- Calm under pressure, adaptable, and comfortable changing direction when things get busy
- A genuine people person who builds trust and rapport easily
- Strong No. 8 wire mentality and happy to get stuck into whatever’s needed
