This opportunity is with a well-known and respected New Zealand transport company that has built its reputation on reliability, service excellence, and long-standing customer relationships.

Reporting to the COO, you’ll lead a large team encompassing sales, account management, and customer service. Your focus will be on strengthening customer relationships, driving revenue and margin growth, and embedding accountability across all customer-facing functions. This is a role for someone who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a national customer and sales strategy aligned with business growth goals.

  • Lead, coach, and hold managers accountable for achieving sales, service, and activity KPIs.

  • Drive revenue and margin performance through strategic account management and new business growth.

  • Maintain and enhance customer experience standards nationwide.

  • Oversee high-value client relationships, ensuring commercial obligations and service commitments are met.

  • Provide clear reporting and analysis to the executive team on sales results, customer performance, and improvement initiatives.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen efficiency and profitability.

What You’ll Bring
  • Proven senior leadership experience within commercial sales, account management, or customer service.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering growth and profitability.

  • Experience setting and enforcing clear activity and performance KPIs.

  • Exceptional relationship management and negotiation skills with executive-level clients.

  • Ability to analyse complex data and translate insights into action.

  • Skilled at leading through influence and building high-performing teams.

  • Familiarity with the transport, logistics, or service-based sectors will be well regarded.
