Join a long-established, family-owned transport business with deep roots in specialised freight and logistics. Known for their strong industry relationships and no-nonsense approach, this company takes pride in delivering high standards without corporate fuss. They’re growing steadily and now seek a skilled Lead Dispatcher to guide their busy team and support ongoing expansion.

About the Role:
This newly created position sits at the heart of operations. You’ll oversee a team of three dispatchers, ensuring daily scheduling and transport activities run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. It’s a hands-on leadership role that balances coordination with people management — leading by example while supporting your team to deliver excellent service and compliance.

Your day will involve:
  • Overseeing job planning and scheduling across multiple transport streams.
  • Providing guidance, mentoring, and direction to a team of dispatchers.
  • Acting as the key link between operations, drivers, and customers.
  • Handling escalations, problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
  • Maintaining accuracy and compliance across dispatch systems.
  • Ensuring health, safety, and fatigue management standards are met.

About You:
You’re an experienced dispatcher or operator who’s already leading a team - or has done so in a similar environment. You know what good coordination looks like, and you take pride in creating order, motivating others and delivering results without losing your cool.

You’ll bring:
  • Solid experience in transport or logistics dispatch.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability — guiding, mentoring and supporting team performance.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A calm, solutions-focused approach when things get busy.
  • Working knowledge of transport management systems.

What’s on Offer
  • Opportunity to lead an experienced dispatch team within a respected operation.
  • Down-to-earth, family-run environment that values trust and initiative.
  • Flexibility with start times (typically between 6am and 8am).
  • Competitive salary based on experience.

If you’re a capable, steady leader who enjoys keeping people, trucks, and schedules aligned, I'd like to hear from you.
