This is not a traditional supervisory role. The intention is to appoint someone who can take ownership of Import and Customer Service operations, lead from the front, and develop into Operations Manager as the business grows.
The right person may already be leading a small team, or may be a strong Senior Customer Service operator ready to step up.
The Opportunity
You will coordinate and oversee day-to-day import and customer service operations across sea and air freight, ensuring bookings, documentation, billing and WIP are managed accurately and on time.
You will support and guide the team, respond to operational challenges, and maintain a high level of service delivery. This includes managing workflow, ensuring emails and customer queries are addressed promptly, and stepping in where required to keep operations running smoothly.
You will also contribute to process improvement, system utilisation and productivity initiatives, with exposure to automation and AI-driven tools as the branch continues to modernise.
For the right person, this role offers genuine progression. The intention is that this individual becomes the second-in-branch and transitions into an Operations Manager role over time.
About You
You will bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in freight forwarding
- Strong import and customer service exposure
- Confidence managing bookings, documentation, billing and WIP
- Natural leadership presence and accountability
- Strong systems capability and comfort with technology
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
