Our client, a well-established and respected, family-owned road transport company, is looking for a proven Business Development Manager, to join their team in Wiri.
 
Job Summary
 
In this highly autonomous role you will drive growth in new business through cold-calling, following up on leads, networking and preparing and presenting proposals across a range of road transport solutions, including FCL, LCL, linehaul and dangerous goods.
 
You will also manage existing accounts, with a focus on driving a growth in share of wallet. You will be backed up by an operational team of highly knowledgeable, long-tenure professionals, who will handle the day-day operational issues.
 
Your territory will encompass the Auckland and Wellington markets, with a few days in the Wellington market on a quarterly basis.
 
The role will have a 70/30 ratio of new business and account management.

Skills & Experience:
 
  • Proven business development skills and experience
  • Road transport or highly relevant experience
  • Comfortable cold calling, networking and generating new business
  • Proven customer service and account management experience
  • High level of presentation
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to plan own day and take ownership of the role and delivering results
