About the Role
They are looking for a top-notch BDM with a minimum of 5 years' experience selling for the forwarding industry. You will know your stuff, and be able to walk the talk with the clients and prospects you interact with. This is a role that focuses fully on acquiring new business, so its imperative that you are a hunter and know how to close the deal as well as open the door. There is good support for your sales, so you won't need to worry about having to 'put out fires' all day long, you will be freed up to continue selling. The expectation is that you will be out on the road for the majority of the week, so there is a good level of autonomy in the trust that you will bring the results.

The duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Meet or exceed agreed-upon sales targets.
Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in line with company's standard principles.
Research and identify key customers in local, domestic, and international markets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
Conduct joint calls with the Customer Service Team and other company Team Members to enhance client engagement.
Maintain an effective pipeline and business plan for each client.
Enter all customer opportunities and call activity into the CRM.
Align budget growth with opportunities identified in the CRM.
Liaise with the branch to ensure a consistent business approach.
Support the Sales/Commercial Business Director as required.
Maintain high levels of activity and customer focus to achieve set targets.
Provide customer reports and analysis.
Proactively contribute to the improvement of business offerings
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years from within the freight industry - ideally forwarding, but we will consider candidates from Courier and Shipping also.
You will need to have proven success in sales within the industry.
You will need to be a self-starter, self-motivated and driven. Hungry to succeed.
Personality is important, that confident friendliness and confidence also in your knowledge of your product/service.
Good time management and organisation is important, and also the ability to relate well to people at all levels.
