An opportunity has become available to join a financially secure NZ owned freight forwarder recognised for its experienced leadership and long standing presence within the industry.

This role sits within a stable and experienced customer service team, supporting a portfolio of import customers across international freight movements. You’ll work closely with an exceptional Customer Services Manager who is known for her depth of industry knowledge, supportive leadership style and hands on training approach.

The previous person in this role has recently transitioned internally into the sales team, reflecting the company’s focus on developing and retaining good people.

About the role

This is a senior customer service position suited to someone who can confidently manage key client relationships, coordinate FAK and consolidated shipments and operate with a high level of ownership and commercial awareness.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing import shipments across designated trade lanes
  • Coordinating bookings with overseas offices and suppliers
  • Providing proactive shipment updates and problem resolution
  • Monitoring timelines, reporting and operational accuracy
  • Liaising with internal operations, transport and sales teams
  • Supporting client retention through high service standards
This is a fast paced operational environment where attention to detail, communication and ownership are highly valued.

What you’ll bring
  • Experience within international freight forwarding customer service or operations
  • Sound understanding of sea freight processes and shipment coordination
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline driven environment
  • CargoWise experience would be advantageous
