This is a role for someone who genuinely understands inventory management in a large-scale, high-volume distribution environment and enjoys the challenge that comes with it.
You’ll be joining a newly established distribution operation where inventory accuracy, system integrity, and fast decision-making are critical to keeping the operation moving.
The environment is fast-paced, detailed, and constantly evolving.
What you’ll be doing
Leading the inventory function across a major DC operation
Managing a team of four across morning and afternoon shifts
Investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies across multiple systems
Reconciling data between WMS and ERP platforms
Driving cycle counts, stocktakes, and inventory accuracy initiatives
Supporting automation and exception handling processes
Building and improving inventory processes and controls
Working closely with operations and systems teams to keep stock flowing accurately and efficiently
What we’re looking for
Proven inventory management experience in a large, fast-moving warehouse or DC environment
Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
Comfortable managing multiple issues at once and making quick decisions
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including formulas, VLOOKUPs, reconciliation work and spreadsheet analysis
Experience working across WMS and ERP systems
Previous leadership experience managing teams across shifts or multiple work areas
Someone who enjoys understanding root causes and improving processes rather than just firefighting issues
Experience within retail distribution, FMCG or large-scale 3PL environments will be highly regarded.
What’s different about this role
This is not a “sit behind a desk and count stock” inventory role.
You’ll be operating in a high-volume environment processing significant daily throughput, working alongside automation systems and helping shape how inventory processes evolve over time.
The business is looking for someone who can think analytically, operate with urgency, challenge processes and confidently manage complexity.
