Customs Broker | Grow with a Team That's Building Something
| Location: | Auckland |

We're part of a wider group with businesses across New Zealand, Australia and Japan. We're also in an exciting phase of transformation, with a new operating model and new leadership roles in place to take the business forward.
The opportunity
We're investing in our customs team and building strong internal capability, and we're looking for an experienced broker to be part of it. It's an exciting time to join, with real opportunity to grow your capability inhouse and help to shape the team as it develops.
Reporting to the Customs Manager, your focus will be our general import and export entries, working alongside the Manager to look after this side of the business.
You'll join two experienced brokers who specialise in Japanese vehicle (RoRo) clearances and high-volume, multi-line retail entries from Japan, and you'll help cover the wider team during leave so there's always a safe pair of hands.
What you'll be working on
No two days look quite the same. You'll handle general cargo entries across a broad mix of commodities, as well as food imports from Japan and Europe, where reading IHSs and guiding importers through MPI requirements makes a real difference to our clients. You'll also get exposure to vehicle clearances, DOUs, carnets and AF9s. If some of these are new to you, that's fine. We're keen to invest in the right person and help you build your knowledge.
You'll be a trusted point of contact for customers, overseas agents, NZ Customs and MPI. As a smaller forwarder, we only say no when we genuinely can't do something, so you'll see a much wider range of work than you might in a larger business where you're limited to the same handful of clients.
About you
- You're a registered customs broker with at least two years of hands-on entry experience.
- You're confident with tariff classification and have a good grasp of MPI requirements. Food import experience is a real advantage.
- You're accurate, detail-focused and quick to pick up new processes, and you make them stick.
- You're comfortable explaining customs requirements in plain language to operations teams and customers.
- You enjoy being part of a team, bring a bit of personality, and work well alongside different styles.
- You're keen to learn, grow your technical depth and be part of a business that's moving forward.
- Real development. You'll get broad exposure and the chance to build your skills under a new Customs Manager.
- Be part of the investment. Join a customs team we're actively building and developing.
- NZ-owned and adaptable. Decisions are made locally, and we shape our services to deliver for customers.
- A relaxed, straight-talking culture. We're collaborative and building an environment where people thrive, with some work from home on offer.
- A great place to be. There's a growing calendar of team events, and people are focused on our ambitious growth plans.
