The Position
The position reports directly to and will work closely with the Regional Manager and Chief Executive Officer. The focus is new business development and is very strategic, involving in-depth researching to identify leads, effective preparation, planning and prospecting.  From there, it involves working with the prospects and clients to determine their needs, building those strong relationships, presenting the right solution and then bringing the business on board successfully.

The Person
We are looking for an astute BDM with proven sales success.  Ideally you will come from a background of service selling, consultancy, complex plant or other consumable products to the mining, oil and gas industry as well as industrial and commercial markets. The attributes and skills needed to fulfil this exciting role are: 
  • Experience in the development and implementation of business development strategy and the implementation of the tactical component of the relevant plans
  • Financial and commercial acumen to develop high value business proposals
  • The drive, persistence, resilience and tenacity to win business in a competitive sales environment
  • Rain maker not an order taker
  • Strong intellectual, strategic and analytical ability as well as solutions driven
  • A self-starter with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • An entrepreneurial attitude, goal driven, results focused with a strong bias for action
  • Well-developed computer skills including CRM software experience
